Weather on the Island
Everyone wants to be in the water! Depending upon what time of year you are here, the temperature of the Gulf can be wonderfully warm or perhaps refreshingly chilly. If you want to know how warm the water will be, check out the graph of Historical Sea Surface Temperature for St George Island. An interesting feature on the Island is that there are 2 High Tides and 2 Low tides, EACH day. The different is high and low tide is not much more than a couple of feet, but it can make a huge difference for building that sand castle, looking for shells, or just that romantic walk at sunrise.
