It’s been a busy summer at SunCatcher! I believe our sweet little house has seen more visitors than ever before in it’s entire history! We have been thrilled to have guests enjoying winter ‘snowbirding,’ quiet couple retreats, girlfriend weekends, family holiday outings, first time explorers of SGI, AND an engagement taking place on our front deck! (That means she did indeed say YES!)
Growth & change…it’s inevitable, right?! But, not all change is bad and looking back through photos I just HAD to share the one above! Wow what a ‘change’ I see! Since that first week…so many new things inside and out: new driveway, furniture, accessories, outdoor amenities. From inside to outside there have been big and little comforts, planned and unplanned, for us as well as our guests to enjoy! We have had so much feedback from our guests that it’s time to take a peek at some of our upcoming ‘planned’ changes in response…
First off, we have decided to add a king bed to the master suite. Although we have no problems cozying up in a queen, we have had some interest expressed in having a king bed for those who love a lil more space. (I totally understand that sometimes tired, boogey board/kayaking arms or sunburned limbs need some freedom for movement! LOL)
Next we plan to change out our older, white kitchen appliances to some more efficient (possibly more attractive) stainless steel. OK, this one is for me! I’m really excited…can’t wait to see the kitchen all dressed up!
The coming months will (hopefully) find us adding on a screen room for ‘squito free outdoor enjoyment! This is currently in the early planning stage; Don & I expect to make the most of our October trip to finalize plans and possibly execute this one! Once done I plan to add some more deep seating on the front deck; everyone who visits seems to love those big teak chairs!
Last, but not least, we are increasing our rental rates 10% for the calendar year 2019. No, this one was definitely not a request, but we will continue to offer our flat fee that includes taxes, fees, and housekeeping as well as our ‘repeat renter/friends & family‘ discounts. You may also note that we do not escalate prices for holidays or local event weekends as is common with other rental properties on SGI. Our ‘NO charge‘ early check-in or late check-out will still be available to our guests (as available) plus we will continue to add to our amenities for your enjoyment during your stay. (I’m working on adding to our “Welcome to SunCatcher” gift offer that I believe our guests will appreciate.)
Change is growth and we are certainly growing! We are so excited to share our plans & look forward to accommodating our ever increasing number of guests who love SunCatcher! Please keep the feedback coming…we hear you!
